Lita Rossana Ford (or Lita Ford as she is more commonly known as was an American born British musician and vocalist who was the leader of the only female hard rock band The Runaways during the late 1970s. Although the band was not popular in The United States, it gained immense popularity in the world. Ford started a metal solo career when the group ended in 1979. Her debut album as a solo artist was called 'Dancin' on the Edge, followed by her album Out for Blood. Ford vanished for some years from the music scene after the two albums didn't get much attention. The smash hit album "Lita" was released by Ford in the year 1988. the single 'Kiss me Deadly' and the ballad "Close My Eyes Forever' both became big hit songs. Unfortunately, the success of her career wasn't lasting and over the course of several years she disappeared. Then she returned when she released 'Black' in 1995, and then 'Wicked Wonderland' nearly 15 years after. 2016 saw the release of her latest album of studio work "Time Capsule". Her name was given The Certified Guitar Legend Award by the Guitar Player Magazine.
